I’m an amateur florist, and I’ve been disappointed that some of my flowers, even ones bought fresh from the market, only last a few days, despite flower food and listerine and changing water and cutting stems at an angle. Then I spray them with a chemical wilt-retardant. What am I missing?

My friend has to have a quick wedding (her fiance is being shipped out for the army) and its tomorrow evening. Im helping her take care of everything, and I volunteered to make the flowers. She doesn’t care much what they look like. for the reception we are just buying arrangements from the flower shop. Im going out tomorrow to buy flowers and ribbon.
Where can I purchase big bouquets of dried herbs to use as a kitchen accessory?

several years ago i bought some from abc distributors and they were attached to a small branch with raffia.Can’t find them now.

Inexpensive silk wedding bouquets or flowers in Arizona?

I’d like to find two silk bouquets for my wedding, which is Dec. 2. The flowers can be white and/or blue (the wedding colors are silver and various shades of blue) and I’d like to find (or, failing that, make, but we’re kind of pressed for time here) arrangements inexpensive enough that I can get a decent-sized one for myself and one for my maid of honor without going much beyond the $50 range. I’m looking online but would just as soon go to an area seller and just pick them up. Any ideas?

I dont want to spend a alot on the bridesmaids bouquets since they will not be kept anyway and am trying to keep the costs within reason. This will be a fall (October) wedding.
